Guilderland sports programs were affected by budget cuts over the last couple of years. As a result we have created a not for profit group, Friends of Guilderland Athletics. The sole purpose of this organization will be to work with the sports booster clubs to raise money to save the sports programs for our children.

For the 2011 - 2012 school year half of the budget has been reinstated and the community will need to raise the other half of the required money to fund the school programs. This totals  $23,830.00.We are delighted to announce that the Guilderland Lettermen have agreed to partner with FOGA this year.

The Guilderland Lettermen host an annual golf tournament to raise funds for moentary awards for student athletes from Guilderland High School to be used towards their college education. In 2010 The Letterman Association issued $15,000.00 raised from this event. This year Friends of Guilderland Athletics are offering sponsorship opportunities for the 2011 Guilderland Letterman Classic. The money raised by FOGA sponsorships will be used to help reinstate the Freshman Sports cut from this years's budget.

This years outing will be held on Friday August 5, 2011 at the Orchard Creek Gold Club in Altamont, N.Y. Over one hundred and twenty golfers will be playing in this outstanding community event.
